Due Date Club July 2008:fluid leakage

hi everyone..

last night i got the fright of my life.. i suddenly felt fluid oozing out while i was in deep sleep and it soiled my underwear.. i was quite shocked.. i rushed to the loo to check and thought that it could be urine coz i hadn' t peed for a couple of hours and the pressure had been building up for a bit, though i was in a bit too much of deep slumber to get up and relieve myself.. just to be on the safer side i read a section in ' what to expect when you' re expecting' about leakage and hoped it wasn' t amniotic leakage so early on in pregnancy.. after that incident, the leakage has completely gone and i was consciously checking myself through the remaining part of the night if there was a steady flow or not.. luckily, it had stopped and my underwear this morning was completely dry. i want to know if anyone else has gone through this episode as well and also let me know that could it be because of susten, the vaginal suppository? the soiling and mess of inserting susten though happens when i am on my feet during the day hasn' t happened in this manner in the night before.. but could it because i didn' t insert the pill properly? also i' m going for my 12 wk scan in a couple of days.. the book also said that if the leaking doesn' t stop then call the doctor.. i think it could either be poor bladder control or susten not being inserted properly.. your thoughts???

hi reema..

i did mention it to my doc a day later and she said it happens sometimes bcoz of holding back urine for too long.. it leaks out on its own.. so she' s told me to empty my bladder as often as possible in order to avoid this kind of a scare in the future.. luckily there' s been no leakage after that night..

hi priti..

susten is given as a precaution to those who have had an incident early in pregnancy like spotting.. also it is given to those who have tested for low levels of progesterone.. which is needed in safeguarding the pregnancy..

it is common to feel emotional during pregnancy.. so you are not alone.. there are times when i go through a low as well but think about things that make you happy and do them.. don´ t be alone.. spend as much time with family and friends coz once the baby comes you won´ t really be able to do all the things you are used to doing right now.. make the most of it and enjoy your pregnancy..

I think it could be a normal vaginal discharge which happens during the pregnancy. Having some vaginal discharge is normal throughout pregnancy as far as it does not stink a lot and is white or transparent. It can also be due to susten. I insert my progesterone tab vaginally in the night, so every morning I do have a little soiled underwear.

I think u relax and its normal to have vaginal discharge during pregnancy.

i also had a similar fright when i was around 10 weeks. it happens some nights even now at 14 weeks.
it could be just clear vaginal discharge which is normal. it can happen due to susten also, depending on how it was inserted that night.

so i think we should relax.
