Hi moms,

How are you all? have some doubts regarding starting solids as I am planning to start solids for Rajju this weekend.

1) What do you mix with rice cereal? water/BM/formula? If you are using formula which water do you use - tap/filter/boiled and is it cold/warm/hot ?
2) How much cereal did you give at first try 1tbsp/ 1tsp ? and how much milk did you use to mix it with?
3) Have you noticed any reduction in baby's milk intake after you started solids?
4) How long were you giving one solid feeding before you made it to two feedings? when did you introduce veg/fruits ?

I mix milk(prepared formula w/boiled water..) to the rice or oats cereal..Initialy I started w/1 tbs cereal w/4-5 tsp milk but Tia does not prefer liquidey type ..she likes a little solid(semi solid) type mix so I changed the consistency..its like sooji ka consistency..I always mix warm milkbut recently due to the heat add room temp milk..I started w/1 tbs then since I realised Tia enjoys more kept adding a little extra each time & now she is into almost 3 tbs..I don't want to increae it more..I have her fill up w/milk after that but she sometimes takes & sopmetimes doesn't..I feel her milk intake has reduced..kya kare..I started w/veggies first..as per her doctors' suggestion..she said 1 jar at a time..but first Tia made such a bekaar ka face whe I started..ut now she polishes off 1 jar quite well...i still give her only veggies..occassionally I give her banana(not jar wala..real wala)..her doctor had tols me first for 1 week give 1 cereal..then same cereal 2 times a day..then start w/veggies but continue the old cereal timetable then to replace one cereal w/another cereal ka flavor..so thats how Tia is into oats ,rice & veggies..
