Due Date Club October 2003:Hospital tour

Hi all

Hope everybody is doing fine and enjoying the last 2 months of pregnancy.
Yesterday me and my husband took the hospital tour in which they show where to park when u r in labour and they showed us the labour room and nursery for the baby and all. I was so overwhelmed seeing all this. i got scared also that now things r getting close. i am really getting nervous how things will happen.
They also told us to mention each and every thing u want coz they deliver 400 babies a month and everybody has diff. needs so don't hesitate to ask anything u want and to mention each and every thing like if u want to breastfeed ur child and don't want to introduce him/her to bottle u have to mention that otherwise nurse can introduse bottle to the child by default. So these r the little things we have to keep in mind. Thought will share with u guys.

Take care

Sweta

Nice to hear from you. Good that you did do hospital tour. Actually we are were also planning to go for hospital tour last sunday, but could not make it. It is good to know the hospital before hand so that we don't end up looping in the hospital while we are in labor. Next sunday, we will definitely go and see the hospital.
Last saturday, we attended childbirth classes. They are very useful. They showed some video tapes and they were scary. But as Radhika says, have no choice but go thru it so it is better to be positive. Heard that the more we are relaxed, we feel a lot better. Try not to be scared about. Not sure how I can do that, but we need to be bold itseems. I am sure every thing will go fine for all of us.

Take care
Anu.

Been a long time..glad to know u r fine, glad u had the experience, saw the babies in the nursery..aren't they cute? I had a tour when my friend was in labour, night time nurses were free and only two deliveries that day so we had a nice chat and tour just like that. Saw a premature and a normal baby. then i was in a hurry to see hw our baby is.
Try not be scared/nervous...most moms will tell u its bearable..and that moment God will give u courage no idea how but seen my most delicate friends go thru without any fear at that time. U will be fine too. The more relaxed and active u are now it will help u ease the delivery too. Anyway we have no choice but go thru it so might as well be positive.
Thanks for the other tips and info.
Take care. DOn't worry too much, be cheerful.
Radhika
