I have an urgent question.I am in US and this time on 28th aug. and one more day in sep.there will b LUNAR ECLIPSE in US at night.

I am 6mnths(24th week) pregnant and they say pregnant women shud take precautions soo.....

If anyone knows about the do' s and dont' s at that time PLZ RESPOND ASAP.

lunar eclipse

hi

I checked with my doctor on the lunar eclipse ad its effect on the unborn baby. He says nothing to worry and can carry our normal activities. And there is no effect on the baby. So guys it is up to you all to take a call. Take care.

Asked my Mom

Hi Meenakshi,

I asked my Mom about it and she said
1. Not to cut vegetables, fruits, anyting.
2. Not to touch ur tummy.
3. Don' t eat/drink anything during that time.
4. If you are sleeping/taking rest during that time then don' t cross your legs or hands.
5. Don' t go out.
6. Don' t look at sky/moon.
7. Pray.
8. Don' t sew anything (she advised me specially for this as I do embroidery in my free time. Its my hobby.)
May be some people think its a superstition but better to take precaution.

Hi All,

You can get all the information from google search...just write \" lunar eclipse in USA on 28th august\" .And u can also get to know th exact timings in ur zone thru that.Next solar eclipse will b on 11th september.

Even SAN has written the info. in this community itself..that' s very helpful.

Can enquire in temple

Hi all

I enquired in temple about the eclipse and they too said yes and it occurs bet 5.52AM to 7.32 AM. And when i asked the person that since I am pregnant what do' s and dont' s to follow, for that he said JUST NOT TO COME OUT, thats it.
I just wanted to share this information with u, so that it might be useful for u all.

Even i was wondering how to know when the eclipse is? so cud u pls tell us Meenakshi where and how did u find out.I used to check the news daily but they dont seem to say anything!!!!
If we know it well bfr we cud take some precautions during that time. Also what all shd be done and shd not be done during that time. Pls if anyone knows kindly share. I am also 23 weeks pregnant and wud like to protect my baby.

Thanks a lot and do u know which day it occurs in september.
Even i do think y all this comes this year that too while pregnancy!!
God is always there to protect us, we should always believe him completely since we are away from parents...

This is what i know

Hi San and SK,

I dont have complete info. of the timings as such..but i know it will start at around 3am (mountain time)in US on 28th.It is only for the ppl in US....so all u wud b mothers in US if u have a temple nearby plzzzzzzzzz try to ask the pandit ji there about the timings.

Infact ,i will b going to my temple tomorrow to ask the exact time.These r the do´ s and dont´ s to foolow during that time(as far as i know):

DO´ s:
-read good books like Ramayana.
-watch mythological movie
-u can recite aarti´ s etc.
DONT´ s:
-dont look at the moon or sky.
-dont eat anything
-dont touch ur tummy
-dont cut anything

If u believe in these things..plz b careful..just think good..read and c good things.

I wud really appreciate if u guys add more info to this....as there will b one more eclipse in sep. too.WHY ALL THESE ECLIPSEs´ HAVE TO CM TO USA THIS TIME YAAR...OOOFFFF

lunar eclipse....

Hi Meenakshi,

Today only my mom learnt that there is eclipse and she went hyper checking the time and all.. then she found out that it was not visible in India... so she relaxed... she was telling me that if it was in India, then she would not have allowed me to do certain things..
they said preg woman should NOT DO....

SHOULD NOT go out.. DONT eat in that period, DONT cut some things eg. vegetables, fruits or anything else..

more I will ask and let you know if you are interested... I also dont know how far to believe it but well my mom was in tension when she find out that there is lunar eclipse and then she relaxed when she found out that it is not visible in India...

Eclipse

Hi,

I traveled from Boston to New York while I was 6mnths pregnant & that night was lunar eclipse.I was asked not to go out by family in India(they still don' t know that i went out)But after doing research on the net I found no scientific evidence to this myth.All the more ur baby' s organs r already developed at stage.Pregnant women all over the world seem to be out on lunar eclipse night & seem to have babies born fine.Anyways,my son was born hale & hearty at 8lbs.Finally its ur call & what u believe in.Goodluck & have a safe pregnancy:)

Hi Ratna,

Thanks for sharing ur exp. BUT just that i have seen the effects of eclipse on my frnds and even my brother.They say u shud not touch ur tummy at that time otherwise the unborn baby in the tummy wud have that mark on his/her body.
You will not believe....my dad touched my moms tummy with a fingure..and u can still c a mark of a fingure on my brothers ledg.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT.

My son also had the same problem his legs used to shiver my doc said it is due to calcium defieciency b.coz I was calcium deficient. She gave him a tonic for 2 mnths it cured after that. Ravs, your ideas are out of date, since your sis is in NJ she should join a good prenatal class [Lamaze, Bradley etc] and get updated information, also her physician will guide her on diet and her self care please don' t give her advise based on the info in this mail of yours. Not to worry

If you want a normal delivery, ask your doc first to try vaginal delivery if not then go for forceps delivery where baby can taken out with the help of tongs...
