Thot we should start writing something about our profiles...
I was born in London(hate that fact as my younger sister calls me a Brit and also calls me Jaliawaala Bagh and I hate that as I love India which is where my heart is always). We are originally from Rajasthan but I have never been there. Grew up in Cal after my parents settled in Cal once they returned from London. We are Marwaaris even though Bong culture has had a huge influence on me. Have an elder and a younger sister. Yes, am the middle one-as I tease my daddy that I am the beech waala maal so neglected!!!Came to the US after shaadi in 2000 and have moved around a lot here. Am currently in Boston, MA. Had an arranged marriage (boring na!!) Almost all my hobbies are done with now after Rishu came, the only one left is gardening...I grow a lot of fruits and veggies and cant wait for the weather to get better man!!
Miss my family a lot a lot a lot and talk to them almost every day:) Cant wait to go to India with Rishu.
Hope you guys keep adding to this....

Tweetie replied. very good to get to know each other this way...
ok firstly let me introduce myself following Panna and Sonal's footsteps, My name is Ruby and Tweetie is my screen name (well not many have thier real name as Tweetie isn't it??) Born in Bombay, raised in Chennai, travelled to the US in 99 for my Masters in Electrical Eng, worked for year before my marriage to Sam in Dec 2002, yup an arranged marriage. My in-laws are with us on a permanent basis....i don't have to say much about this scenario...many of u can guess my frustration that crops up at times. well it has its pros and cons...Hope to stay sane for a few more years...:(
Due to 2 relocations, which finally has got us to Texas, I haven't worked much after marriage, now am happy being a full time mom.Hobbies...hmmm seems to be a forgotten word...like interior decorating, have so many wishes of doing some of my dream projects...well some day. Like gardening too, but haven't had too much time of late.
ok then, lets keep this post growing.

maurni replied. Way to go Reena! This is wonderful. I will start of by saying that I follow in Komal's ( Panna's ) steps. My real name is Sonal. Maurni is my screen name. I was born in Nairobi, Kenya and was there till I finished my O'levels. Then moved with family to California where my family still lives. I have a younger brother who is in his final year of masters in Bio-Chemical engineering. I met my hubby, Bharat, whilst I was in the UK on holiday visiting my nani. My in-laws are all in the UK and my hubby is a Brit! ;-)hehe....
We were married in 1998 and were in the UK until 1999 and then moved to Michigan, USA due to his job. He's a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry. With Detroit being the automotive capital of the world we have been here since. I am an accountant by profession and worked for a lawfirm till Vrisa was born and then decided to stay home to raise her. I plan on doing some consulting from home once I am a bit settled with Vrisa and I am also a former fitness trainer so am planning on getting certified again to do a bit of that on the side. So needless to say, one of my hobbies is working out. Other ones are dancing ( fav one is Salsa ) and reading ( mostly fiction by desi writers ).
I must say this is a really good idea. Thanks, Reena and all those who write about themselves here. Love to you all.

komal replied. Hi Girls,
Yep Reena this is a great idea specially since it gives me the chance to disclose my real name which some of you know and some don't ..Sorry girls komal is just my screen name which i had to use initially for some reason and then just stuck to it. i am actually Panna , born in Jabalpur (MP) where my Nani lives. Basically a Punjabi but never stayed there and hardly have a punju influence in life since my Dad was in Indian Navy and we kept moving all over India - so have mostly done my schooling in Calcutta, Bombay, Cochin, Goa (7 schools in all:)).
Met my Hubby Balaji (yes he is a Tam Brahm) in 1995 at Nagpur where we did our engineering ..he was my senior...
We got married in 2002 June and that's when i came to USA...currently in Boston. We have done loads of masti lots of travelling before Megs arrived...and i don't think it's gonna change since she seems to like going around too...already done one New york trip with her and planning a trip to Niagra falls this weekend ....and now that she is completely on formula (my milk supply has almost stopped :( ) it should be easier ...keeping my fingers crossed.
To think of it i have no hobby at all these days..or maybe i can say that my only hobby is \";Megha\";-updating her baby Book, baby album , diary and preserving all sorts of keepsakes for her:) ..
Chalo that's a lot about me....it's so cool that we are all getting this close...wouldn't it be so much fun to meet everyone.
Take Care
Lots of love

Born (05-05-'77) and grew up in Kerala to a Prof mom and a techie dad. Have an elder bro' who's also a techie and is with the refineries in Mangalore.

Am an avid traveller and barring the Himalaya belt and Bihar, have been everywhere in India! Now, am grounded 'coz of my hubby and Kich, both not too shaukeen of sauntering about..
Once Kich grows a bit, i plan to make my dream trip to the 'hills'.
