Due Date Club October 2001:Update...

Hello Girls,

I had my GD testing done last week. I got to know the result today and its negative. I am so relieved after knowing the result. Doctor told me she would monitor me till the end and i still have to control my diet too by cutting down sweet intake. Perhaps because i am gaining more weight than i should be. Anyways, baby is pretty active eventhough i haven't got baby's big kick yet. I feel like baby is tapping or knocking to remind me that he/she is there or feed me..lol.

Jyotsna, i do have discomfort sometimes at night like not getting goodnite sleep, tiredness etc. Nowadays weather is pretty hot/humid and its difficult to go for a walk in the evening or even after 7:30 pm.

Padmaja, it must be very exciting being mom at home, isn't?. I am impatiently waiting for my mom.
So have you finished eating all sweets and pickles? I am also very concerned about labor, pain and how i am going to handle it. Are you open about taking medication like epidural or other?

If i were in india there must be having a ceremony by this time due to my being in seventh month now. I am going for the first day lamaze class this weekend. Girls did you feel numbness on hands or fingers when you get up in the morning?

Nivea, Welcome to the board. Keep posting.

Take care all of you and keep in touch.

I have gone for the first day lamaze class today. It was fun attending the class with other mothers-to-be. I have gone with my husband and my instructor trained him to help me to breathe, massage to ease/reduce pains etc. She Showed a tape of three deliveries, one natural delivery and other two with the help of medications.

As you said i am not sure either how much i will follow her instructions during the labor. Did you experience a change in the color of your body skin?
My skin only on the neck became darker and it looks weird.

Take care of yourself and keep in touch.

Mekha,
yes the skin color changes due to hormonal changes. It gets back to normal after delivery.
Apply vitamin-e oil over your tummy/thighs/whereever there are styrations--Take good care of your body especially after delivery.
Take care n stay in touch

hi mekha,
i have gone for 2 of my prenatal classes and have some more left on actual breathing and actual delivery(along with husband). The exercises have really helped me especially the pelvic tilts--eases the back and nerves.I do them whenever i can.
Tapes on child birth sound daunting but its bound to look scary when someone else is going thru it.When our time comes then one wil flow with whatever is happening.
I am hell bent on trying for a normal delivery this time and fortunatelt for me my doc and husband both support me on this.
I havent chosen the name yet---everyday my daughter comes up with something new which usually are her school friends names. So its quite a laugh.
Take care of urself and stay connected

Long time since we saw you here, hope things are going smoothly your way. Yup, my mom being here is a great help to both me and my husband.

As far as pain medication during L & D goes, I am not sure how things will go but I am open for anything. Just praying that things go peacefully.

I am having cramps in my calves and numbness at times, as they say joys of pregnancy I guess.

Keep in touch and take care
