Hi,
I am a member of the Oct 03 (which has gone private now) and August 05 board. My name is Vidya. I am from cochin, Kerala and now living in New Jesrsey. Though I was member of the August 05 board, never wrote any messages. I used to read this board too.
First of all Congrats to everyone! Hope all babies are doing well. I had my daughter (Sriya) on Aug 2, 05. I have a son (Vasav) who is 2 years old.

My baby has been having rashes all over her body since she was a month old. I read that some of the babies here had rashes too. Did any one have any experience with such a thing. it is all over her body. Some days it si less others it is bad. Doc is saying it is caused by something that I eat, as she was having it when i was solely breast feeding. So she asked me chang emy diet. I stopped taking almost everything. For almost 4 weeks I tate on chicken, veggies, rice and thing made of rice flour. As soon as i stopped taking dairy there was some respite. But after that nothing. Now I have tried introducing these foods back to my diet (except diary) one by one.Still not much progress. We ahve an appointemnt with an allergy specialist in 2 weeks.
We tried everything ....she waers only 100% cotton , we use dreft to wash her dresses etc. She had sever cradle cap too and doc say s may be that too. Even now her body is very dry, her head too is dry and itchy. we have to put vaseline 3-4 times on her body even on head. We have stopped using any oils or creams or soap. Only use vaseline or cetaphil cream or cetaphil cleanser.

Don't know what to do. Does anyone know of a problem like this?

Thanks
Vidya

hi vidya

yday i cant type fully bcoz my baby was crying.
my ped suggested to use 1%hydrocrotisone cream. it worked well for my daughter.
also what i noticed is, first i was using johnson's baby oil for massaging.itchy rashes went off when i stopped that baby oil.
then after somedays, when her skin bacame smooth i used coconut oil for massaging. within 2days of using that she got ecezma again. after stopping coconut oil now she got smoother skin.
so now i stopped massaging my baby.now i dont no which oil to use.

also i read in some site that, eating egg can increase the ecezma. so if u eat egg try to avoid for some days and see if there is any improvement.

then one more thing, my friend's baby also got ecezma. he is fully allergic with johnson's product not even johnson shampoo. while washing with that shampoo, the latter passes thru the baby's body then he is getting ecezma again.

so if u use johnson's baby shampoo....try to avoid if u think that it may be also one of the reason. she is using only cetaphil soap for his head wash also. u can try that too.

ok then takecare

hi Vidya

my baby too had some rashes all over her body. it can when she was a month old. then my ped suggested Aveeno baby lotion. it worked well.
but as u say that the rashes still present, just consult dermatologist soon.
yes change in diet also will help, to my opinion u can aviod chicken coz chicken produces body heat.baby may feel itchy due to that.

my baby is crying....
reply u later

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
