hi Archie and all

as my baby got ezcema i stopped using johnson baby oil and didnt use any oils for massaging.

now my baby has got smooth skin. which oil is best to massage???? like olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, sesame oil????
i heard that applying coconut oil over the body may turn the skin to somewhat black. is it so??

Archie and others, help me in choosing oils. i bought extra virgin olive oil which is imported from Italy...but still im confused which oil to use.

please help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Sheeja and others,
I don't think coconut oil per se would make skin look darker. It would if it has to with any oil. Dark or white skin is due to amount of melanin produced by body.

I have been a coconut oil user and the same has been used in family (both parts of our family), I don't think we are very light in color but I think we look like the way our parents or ancestor do. The color is dependent on two factors, genetic constituion and environment where the baby is brought up and prenated.

Dear Sheeja,
i don't abt organic one. One of my cousin also told me that u can use any brand of extra vergin.
i think u don't need to go with organic olive oil.
let see what other friends say.

Hi Sheeja, I am using coconut oil on the days she takes head bath and johnson baby oil on the days she takes ordinary bath. Till now no problem. But I am not sure is it OK to use this way. I wanted to post a message on the board. Initially when I tried olive oil, it didn't suit her.

Hi Seeja,

I don't beleive in this color buisness but feel it can't be true that with coconut oil skin goes towards black.

Anyway you can use Olive oil, I am using it from 1st week for Advait and he is doing well with it. I knew few people who applied deshi ghee, you can try that as well as if you are too much color conscious :-)

Hope this will help you in deciding...

Take care,
Sudha

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
