Hi Archie and all,
i was having burning in my right breast after feeding the baby(not every day & not after each feeding). I called to my lactation consultant she said use lotrimin cream if its fungal infection then u will be all right and i use that didn't get relief. I met her and she said that i don't know why this is happening I told her that it might be latching problem Becoz whenever i feel pain while feeding i get burning sensation. The is really unbearable i cry alot it stay almost 2 hurs.
laction consultant told me to pump in right breast and i m doin that i got relief.

She told to use Avent Or madela manual pump But Archie i remeber that u told to someone to use Avent breast pump so i got that..its really good thanks alot Archie.

Archie tell me abt the cleang of pump .
Can we use soap water ? do we need to boil it every time?
I wanna know abt the bottle cleaning also. i clean them with hot soap water i don't boil.
how long we can keep milk out after pumping?
once we take it out from fridge then can we put it back in the fridge ...i mean leftover milk?

thanks
Sweety

Dear Sweety,
On usage of Avent ISIS manual pump.
You can buy a sterilizer (amazon site has it) and it's very useful. You can wash the whole pump in hot water after disassembling the parts and sterilize in sterilizer with microwave in just 2-4 minutes.
About bottles clean them by running hot water.

I would warn caution and not to use soaps at all to clean parts of pump or even bottles. Some nipples are tricky and you can't boil them over 2-3 minutes, be careful.

You can pump milk and keep in freezer if that's extra and keep for weeks.
No you can't put the milk back in freezer or fridge compartments once it was taken out and was used.
To avoid this trouble I would recoomedn buying breast milk storage bottles, they are 3-4 oz in size and once you have pumped milk you can aliquot them in number of bottles and take out one bottle at a time for feeding baby.

You can put pumped milk in fridge rather than freezer but not longer than 24 hours.

You can keep pumped milk outside but do not keep at room temperature longer than 6 hours if it's more than 6 hours you just throw that in sink.

hope you got answers to queries.

Sweety
here are my comments,
you can keep BM in ice packs as long as it's cold. Once it's room temperature no longer than 6 hours. NO, you are not going to keep it back in fridge or ice packs. This shall answer all query regarding how to and when to carry/store BM.

Give about a week before you try on breast. True you should continue feeding on other breast so that baby does not loose habit of latching on breast. If burning sensation persist then may be pump is option for long run for that breast.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
