Due Date Club October 2003:All the great discomforts of pregnancy

Now with all of us in the 3rd trimester wanted to know what discomforts everyone has and what you all are doing to reduce them.

My list:
1)Swollen feet --Bought new shoes,keep them elevated,reduced salt still they don't disappear completely.They do not pain .

2)Swollen fingers--They pain in the morning when I getup from bed but after sometime the pain reduces.

3)Braxton Hicks-I get them more frequently and doctor said to drink more water.Already I drink so much water that i have to go to the restroom more often.
They are becoming more intense.When I get them I try the breating I learnt in Lamaze class...atleast I have something to practise my breathing :-)

4)Heartburn,acidity--This has been my constant companion for the last couple of weeks.So I started having plain and boiled food for dinner and it helped.


Anyone having any good recipe ideas for some nice and healthy food.

Hi Nick ,
Here goes a list of my pregnancy woes !!
1) Backache .... I just lie flat on the bed when I get it or have a hot water shower .
2) Leg Cramps .... I get them at night when I am sleeping . This one really is bad , I get up put my foot on the floor and that gives me relief .

Nick,
I too have most of the symptoms. I was so happy that I didnt have swelling but it started to come now.
Hey does breathing help u in BH?
I get some feeling like baby is balling up, donno if that only is BH. its only in the top of uterus though mostly. Can u plz share how ur BH feels like?
If I eat like 6-7 times a day h/b is under control, try that. yes as u said plain food will help too.
Healthy food.... I drink lot of chocolate/vannila/strawberry milk these dys got bored of complan/horlicks.

Hi Bar
During my BH my tummy becomes hard & tightened for sometime and it gets pretty uncomfortable.Sometimes it is accompanied by cramps.
The breathing doesn't help much but since our childbirth instructor asked us to practise I figured thats the only way I can keep my mind off the discomfort of it.
