hi all

today i had 4th month's ped app. Dr asked me to start solids. she is 13 1/2 pounds now and 3.5 months old.
he told to start with rice cereal first, then slowly we can start to introducr our indian foods.
as im nursing my baby every 1 hr once in the day time. it is horrible for me to nurse every hour and every 2 hr once in the night.
so as her appetite is increasing Dr told me to start solids.

then howz everyone???

Laya's paed has asked us not to introduce solids until 6months. she says her bm intake will reduce and my production of bm will also reduce..

I feel 3.5months will be little early for her to start solids. If you are having enough milk supply, why don't you continue for some more time may be till she complete 4-4.5months. Every hour and 2hr feeding could be frustrating but when you have done this for 3.5month, you can do now also. Since nothing is better then mother milk, please continue feeding her.
Otherwise also instead of starting solid you can give her formula (lactogen etc..) for few times in day.

On rice cereal first, even my Ped has told the same thing.
