I am having problems with breast feeding. My baby is now 1 month old. In the first 15 days, doctors asked me not to breast feed because of some medication given to me at the time of delivery. After that we started trying to breast feed. We tried patiently so many days using so many techniques like applying honey, drip drop method etc etc but my baby doesnt latch on at all whatever we do or whatever we try.

We are now feeding her NAN1 thru cup and spoon. I have purchased an Avent manual breast pump and express milk once a day and feed her with that once a day. Because she is not feeding, I think the milk output is decreasing slowly. Now I can only express 30ml a day.

We feel she is not getting enough feed because of the cup and spoon method. Doctor asked not to use bottle because nipple confusion might arise. Now that she is not breast feeding anyway, is it a good idea to start using the bottle so that she can feed appropriately. Please suggest. Riva replied. Madhavi, This is something i tried to help my daughter latch on on the second day she was born - look at your baby and make the suckling noise and expression and offer ur breast/bottle. Pump every 2 to 3 hours for fifteen minutes at a time.
