Due Date Club July 2005:hair and pregnancy

Dear Sudha and others,
It's perfectly normal to experience to thinning hair postpartum.
It's due to hormones are going back to basal level. It may continue for a few months and subside slowly.
It's common to experience thick hair growth while pregnancy. This is mainly due to increased progesterone during pregnancy. Some experience full and thicker growth and some facial pigmentation during pregnancy and will subside in different degree from person to person after child birth.

No, you won't get bald that easily. To repleinish missing nutrients it's always good to continue with prenatals while on nursing period. Once you stop breastfeeding you are allowed to stop intake of prenatals. This way you won't loose more hair due to insufficient nutrients, which will be an additional reason besides hormones.

Hope this helps to you all.
Archie

Hi Archie,
I do understand the reason, but feel my hair fall is mush more then it should be :-(. My baby is about to be 4months and I don't see any decrease in falling. I am continuing prenatals (calcium and Iron one each in day) but sometime skip it (will not do now onwards) and same time still taking same amount of milk and fruit which I was taking while pregnancy.

Anyway nothing cxan be done I beleive except wait and watch, hope falling cycle get over soon.

Thanks Archie for visiting our board. Hope you are doing well.

Love to Advait and regards to you,
Sudha

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
