Hi Archie
Thanks a lot for your advise. There is one more thing on which i will be grateful if you offer some advise.Through out my pregnancy i have been suffering from Urinary tract infection. In my 3 rd month i was given two 3 day courses of Sporidex 500.Then during my Cerclage I was put on a 5 day course of Amikasin and in later part of my 6th month I was given a 3 day course of Norfloxacin. Now the doctor is not very keen on giving me any antibiotics. She has advised me to drink lots of water as you have also advised in other letters.Lately in my urine culture no organisms were found to be growing. However pus cells were found in complete urine examination.
Now my problem is I am experiencing this pain in pelvic area and also sometimes on my right side of abdomen(which the doctor says is probably due to colitis). Pain is more in the nights. Even while trying to get up from bed spreading my legs cause pain in pelvic area and also pressure in the right side.. What might be the reason of this pain? Is this a cause of concern esp while i am travelling in my 30th week by air as i mentione in my last letter? What other precautions do I need to take?

Dear Priya,
It's common to have recurrent UTI. What bothered me a little is the chemotherapy. The dose of Sporidax should have been for a week than just for two days.

Keep emptying your bladder as frequent as you can and try not to wear tight undergarments.

Also drink plenty of lemonade (home made). This will help keeping pH in vaginal area towards acidic side.

Pelvic pain could be colitis or a normal pregnancy concern. When around week 30 you can have much more discomforting situation. This is due to increased weight in belly portion and also it will exert pressure on your sciatia.

Sleep on sides, use pillow to support back and one between two legs. Try to fold your legs towards abdomen and see whether this helps.

Eat banana two to three times a week.

Archie
