Hii. I am 38 years old and married. I am trying to get pregnant since 1 year but in vain. I would like to know what are the things that i should keep in mind to get pregnant early? Moreover, i have heard the risk in pregnancy increases at this age, is it true? cass replied. Hello Swati, ! year of trying to conceive is not a long time. But first you should consult with your doctor. He will give a good diet plan and lifestyle advice. Its understandable that you are a bit worried about your age. Age plays a big role in defining female fertility. There is only a limited no of eggs in the female ovaries and the no. goes on decreasing with each passing menstrual cycle. But I think 38 is not too late to try. There is a healthy chance of getting pregnant if everything else is normal medically. I would like you to remain stress free. I could not conceive for 8 years in my marriage and it was very disappointing.But thankfully I had the support of my husband and family. Hello Swati, you can go prenatal tests that are especially meant for women above 35. moreover taking the vitamins tablets including folic acid as prescribed by the doctors are must for every pregnant woman. the last and important suggestion is not to skip any appointments with the doctor during pregnancy. Riddhi replied. I agree that getting pregnant after the age of 35 increases concerns but there is nothing to worry as many women at this stage of life have given birth to healthy babies. Regular prenatal check ups and a bit of extra care will increase your chances of having a healthy child.
