Due Date Club November 2003:Finally some news

Hi Everyone. Finally met my doc today and she told me that the urine sample results didn't show any infection. Then she took today's sample and it again showed signs of infection but doc said she will not send to lab since I don't have any other sign of infection. So I'm keeping the faith.
Was reassuring to hear babes heartbeat. Was concerned about my weight gain and the terrible pelvic pain, which is getting worse by the day. She called the hospital in front of me and they said no appointments for hydrotherapy for next two mths!! She told them to try to arrange something soon as two mths is no good for me. Let's see how it goes!!
She told me to just put my feet up, eat healthy diet, just not too much sugary stuff to maintain right sugar levels.
Next appointment another two weeks and I'm due for blood tests to check iron levels etc. Hope for the best.
The baby seems to be in right position though not engaged and is not little or too big,she said scans only give guess work on baby's weight and r not often right. So best is to just eat well and rest and hope for the best!!
Thought would share with you so u too feel reassured if u had any of the same concerns.
Good luck ladies.
Simmi

Hi Simmi:

The results of the urine sample test must have been a relief for you.
I have also heard abt Ultrasounds being very approximate indicators of baby's weight.Did u get any estimate of the same at your last check-up?
Anyway eat well and hope u get the hydrotherapy appointment.Sounds divine!

Cheers,
anita

Hi Anita. No, I didn't get any idea of babes weight or size, but the doc said the fluid level is not that generous as it was before and baby seems like a normal size not big or little. So I am keeping the faith. Thx.

Hi Anita. Thx for ur wishes. Well, hydrotherapy sure sounds divine but have to wait to see if I get an appointment...fingers crossed!
I was also considering option of trying birthpool when I go in to labour. However, can't be sure how I will like it. In a baby program on Discovery Health I saw that the woman went in the birthpool but didn't find the water comforting and she came out and was standing up througout the contractions and her water broke standing and then she dialated standing and then after 3 hrs of this ritual, she laid half way up on bed and delivered. So I can't make out what I can do on the d-day however, would want to try this standing position if sitting down gets tougher to deliver. Hope for the best.
Take care. Simmi

Hi Simmi,

Glad to hear about your results. It's relieving to know everything is normal. Yes, the best part is to hear the baby's heartbeat.

It's bedtime for you, so use as many pillows as possible. Like Avi said, a pillow in-between the legs helps a lot. Hope everyone's pelvic pressure recedes soon.

Hydrotherapy sounds like an experience, hope you get an appointment soon.

I am sure your iron level will be fine too.

Hi Vidhya. Thx so much for ur supportive words. Well Hydrotherapy is a good solution, provided when I see a pysiotherapist, he/she thinks I am able to handle it. If I don't get an appointment this week then I may try going private, let's see if they do pvt cover treatment on this or no. But sure wouldn't want to leave this unattended with the pain getting from bad to worse.
Thx for ur wishes, I am eating regular pregnancy tabs not extra Iron tabs yet but trying to drink Orange Juice and Cranberry juice regularly. Doc says Cranberry is very good for babes. Hope you guys try it soon, if you haven't done so far.
Take care.

simmi, i walked around the mall yesterday for a few hours and noticed that my pelvic pain increased by a 100%....it is still hurting...while you are waiting for the hydrotherapy appointment, I hope you are getting lots of rest.. it does help.. and it also helps when I sleep with a pillow inbetween my legs..
I hope you feel better soon...

Hi Avi. Feel so much better after sharing things with you and then hearing back a response. It is so comforting! I agree, walking makes the pelvic pain worse, I guess our weight on the muscels gets more taxing in standing position. I must say I haven't been able to sleep without a pillow between legs for ages. I try but it hurts like hell, can't turn around etc.
Saw a normal delivery on Discovery Health channel, was so overwhelming but seeing the woman strech her legs to deliver, I keep hoping I can do that with all this pain in the pelvic muscles!
Fingers crossed.
Take care. Simmi

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
