Due Date Club October 2003:Nursery for my baby

Hi girls,
Hope you are all doing fine.Yesterday i prepared a nursery for my baby.I don't know what happend to me.Suddenly i felt that iam not doing anything for my baby.So i went and cleaned a room from the morning till evening. Then decorated the room with some pictures.I placed lots of dolls inside the room and also with those things i purchased for my baby till now. Then i arranged the baby dresses in a corner of the room.I also wrote my baby name 'MANASA' in a cardboard and then cut it into heart shape and pasted it in the wall.I also pasted cute little pictures in the walls. The nursery is almost half done.My hubby came home in the evening and he was very surprised to see the nursery (that too prepared in a single day by me without anyones help). He was very happy to see that room and he praised me a lot(scolded me too for lifting heavy suitcases to empty the room).I have few more adjustments to do.Iam planning to take photos of the room too.The room is full of baby stuffs and i am very happy when i think that i did it for my baby.I don't want my baby to blame me in future for not creating a nursery for him/her.So iam very happy that i have done some thing for my baby. You know girls iam very tired today.I could'nt even get up from the bed as i was busy working the whole day yesterday. My whole body is paining. But when i see the nursery i forget the pain.Have you all started to prepare the nursery for your baby?.Iam also planning to create a web site for my baby.Okay girls. Thanks for reading.Take care....
love from

Good for u...I hope we both also find time and get atleast essentials..don't think enof place in the apartment for a nursery, but hoping atleast the baby will have a space of its own..
Love the details u added in ur nursery.
Have u bought a crib too...see many newborns don't like the static crib and prefer the bouncer...if u know of any nice rocking crib/cradle do let me know..will be ideal for small space in apartment and hopefully baby will enjoy the movement..its ok even if its only for a year old baby..as long as they are happy the initial years..
Hope u enjoy being in the room now..it must be a great feeling. Take care lifting heavy stuff..and take rest now.
Good luck to u..
Radhika

Hi
Kals its really cute of u indeed.
We jus have an empty room(had to run behind hubby to vacate that room since 1 month). And I have all the stuff that we bought so far in the shopping bag itself and then an unassembled crib...
I am not doing much work in the house, so acc to my hub I'm not allowed to decorate the room, even though I love to
Planning to do it when he is around also my parents shld help too.
I envy u since u did it urself :)

Radhika,
I heard that there is a vibrating bouncer which is excellent for babies. It seems if baby is crying and when put in that it soothes and makes baby comf.
I have to check if vibration is ok and then I plan to buy that. Also I plan to buy swings that have timer and can swing automatic, my frends kids love them. U can search for these on the web or in BabiesRUS. I am planning to buy after they r born within a month or so.
Hope it helps.

Hi Kals

Wow, all that in a single day, you sure were on a roll..:-)
Looks like you have most of it done, and without any help, that is amazing!
Do post the snaps once you are done, we can start a nursery folder in our yahoo account.
This is what we are doing at home. Instead of a full blown nursery, we are doing a play room, because I want the crib and changing station in my bedroom for a little while atleast.
The play room has a circus theme, and the wall paper is all up, the floor cushions and window treatments are ready too. I need to put a rocking chair in it, but still cannot find one to match the colors in the room, probably will get one and do the upholstery ourselves. I have not yet bought any baby stuff, since I am waiting for the last month to do that, but once that is done, stuffed toys and other play items will be placed there. I love your idea of writing the baby's name and hanging it, but in my case, I do not know if it is a boy or a girl.
Enjoy your time doing up the nursery, I hope to see the picture soon....I will post mine once it is kinda done.

love
Suni
