Hi girls

How r u all doing. I am in my 13th week and still having nausea. But i think i will feel better once i am in my 2nd trimester. Just waiting for that.

I have a question. I am having pain in my waist & thigh joint of my right side from few days. Is it normal. Does any of u have the same probleb. I called my dr. and she said to use the heat pad but i heard that heat is not good for baby. Just wondaring whta to do. Please let me know if any of u know about this

how r u feeling now? still going thru aches and pains.
well, i am in the end of my 16th week now.
even i am having a slight backache. my doctor said to use a heat pad, but not directly. first place a small towel and then keep the heat pad.
and the heat pad is not harmful for the baby.
the aches r also due to sleeping positions.
generally, during pregnancy, women find it comfortable sleeping on their back. but infact, this is the main cause of backache coz the whole weight of the growing uterus falls on back. so it is always advisable to sleep on ur side. specially on ur left. thats because heart is in the left and this will provide good blood circulation to the fetus.even i am sleeping on my side. and really, now my backache has reduced a lot.
and u can also ask ur husbnd to give a light massagewith olive oil.

HI sweta -don't worry, during pregnancy doc. said joints are softer/ more pliable so aches, pains normal. Really hot steam bath is harmful, keeping hot water bag on thigh is way far away from the uterus..so no harm in that..(waist and thigh joint be carefl it doesn't touch ur uterus...dicey situation...i can understand ur worry..) My doc asked me to keep exercising and get used to all the small aches and pains..it could be because of sleeping position, my knee caps would ache sleeping on one side, since i used to sleeping on my tummy, they asked to keep a pillow on th side so i don't turn by mistake in sleep and a pillow in between legs...it worked some times, some nights it was there but if i sat up and walked a bit it reduced..try keeping a pillow in between ur legs while sleeping, i just stopped thinking about it,got used to the pain and it gradually stopped..maybe all this is for short time..
