Hi,

I'm 21 week pregnant.Yesterday my doc called me to tell that I have group B strep infection inmy urin.She precribed me amoxicilin500mg,3 times a day,for 7 days.Besides medication that what can I do to get rid of this infection?thanks

Hi:

I just wanted to tell you that Group B step is totally nothing to worry about. The Dr. just gave me the antibiotic during labor and baby was fine. I did not take anything prior to that.

Dear Mom1
you should make sure you empty bladder often,
Drink Cranberry juice if you live in US.
Blot vaginal area with unscented tissues.
Do not wear tight undergarments.

Unfortunately about 30% womens carry Group B streptococci, no threat to baby. Take medication and enjoy pregnancy.
