Hi Shaily,

Congratulations to you and your family on the birth of Yash.

I am from May2006 message board. Due on 19th May.
I saw your message to Channa Bhomi on Jun2006 message board.
You had mentioned about the preparation before the delivery.

You had mentioned about washing all the baby clothes. I have a doubt regarding the same.
After washing the baby cloths with mild detergent we have to dip the cloths in dettol water right.
After dipping, do we have to again rinse the cloths in hot water before drying it?
Please let me know.

I read your birth story. It was amazing. I was almost in tears. Where are you based?

Thanks and regards,
Anu

Thanks Anu!

hope u r enjoying ur pregnancy.u must b counting days now:)

regarding rinsing the clothes again- its upto u.if ur dettol solution is mild, i thinkdip them for a while and dry them in the sun- this will take care of the dettol smell. if u think the dettol smell is strong, u could rinse them with water again. the basic idea is to have clean germ free clothes but babies shudnt be subjected to strong smells either.

hope it helps,
take care,
shaily

Hi Shaily,

Thank you for the advice regarding dettol water. I'll take care.
This was my long pending doubt, finally after seeing your message I thought I should ask you.

I am based at Bangalore. I am working.
I am planning to come to office as much as possible.
We need more time after the baby is born right.

Yes.. now I am literally counting days.
Having mixed feeling of happiness and nervousness.
But then I console myself thinking that so many moms have gone through this phase.
I am not an exception. So it should be fine.

Take care,
Anu

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.

Ear piercing
My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.
