Hi all
OUr baby is finally here. We had a beautiful baby girl on the 26th of April. We have named her Arushi (which means \";First Rays\";). She weighed 7.26 lbs and is 19\"; long.
I want to thnak all of you who helped during a tough time during the pregnency. You all were right, once you have a baby in your arms, it does not matter whether it is a girl or a boy...it just means so much that your baby is fine.
Sree, I hope that your son is doing better. I had a similar experience like yours. I started labour on the 23rd night....We went tot he hospitla on the 24th afternoon...there they monitered me and since I was only 3 cms dialted and the baby's head was still high they sent me back home. My contractions did not stop....I kept having irregular contraction. We went back to the hospital on the 25th morning. Again they monitered me and sent me back home. I came home and Took a couple of warm showers and did walking. My contractions were still at irregualr timings and some were extrememly strong. Somehow, I passed the day and half the night.
On 26th morning, at 3.30 am when the ontractions got stronger, we went to the hospital. By that time, I was 5 cms dialted and the baby's head was down to +2 position. By the time I was 6 cms, I was extrmely tired and could not bear the pain anymore and took and epidural. Around 10.00 am, they put me on oxygen, as the baby was not getting enough oxygen. By 11.30, I was fully dialted and they got me to start pushing...By the baby's head was still high. I pushed for an hour, but baby's head did not come downa dn her heart beat was fluctuating. OUr doctor gave us the option of pushing for another hour or 2 till the baby's head comes down a bit more and then he would use vacuum and foreceps to remove the baby or do a c-section. Since our baby was in distress, we did not even think twice and deceided to go for the c-section. Arushi was born at 12.46 am.
I have had a lot of problems recoving from the c-section...my incision got slightly infected too and it is still difficult and painful to move about. But we don't regret our decison, as Arushi is completely fine and healthy.
Thank you all once again for all your support thoughout and Congratulations to all the mom's whose baby's have arrived.
Sree, I will keep your baby in my prpayers.
Take care
