Hi all,

Here there are some people who r done with IUI procedures and some who are about to take it up.I fall under the second category.If someone who has got it done before can give some detailed explanation about the procedure,people who r about to take it up may,get a clearer picture and it might help them reduce that procedure anxiety.Help someone. philly mom replied. We went thru' the same IUI procedure after trying for more than 2years. But we are 100% positive that I did not become preg as they injected my husbands semen on me.. We strongly believe that the time we got pregnant , we had intercouse three times a day for two days apart from injecting the semen.. so it paid off.. hence my suggestion would be to u all is to have intercourse three times on the day of ovulation and Iam sure u all will be amazed with the results..all the best for you guys.. sowdha replied. I have undergone IUI for around 6 times and got pregnant through it. the procedure goes where on the 3rd or 5th day of your period u will have to take clomis tablets for 5 or 7 days and then from 10th day onwards u will go for ultrasound to see for follicular monitoring and when the follicle reaches a certain size, you will be injected with(if i remember profasi), this is for induced bursting of the follicle and within 48 hrs of injection your follicle will burst and u will have to go to ur doc along with your husband. in the hospital they will collect ur husband' s semen and treat it, this takes approximately 2 hrs and then the perfect sperm is seperated and collected in a tube and then ur doc will insert the tube containing the sperm into ur vagina. there is no anesthesia given, the procedure is slightly uncomfortable but be cool everyhting shd be fine and u will be asked to lie down for say 1/2 hr to 1 hr and then u can go back home. The procedure is quite irritating when u come to knw tht u r not pregnant by the end of the month, usually they say tht the procedure works in the 2nd or 3rd time mostly. dont worry all the pain really vanishes when u see ur little one laugh. all the very best and dont loose hope, incase if u feel u want to tlk further i am ready to help u out.
