Name: nisha hi friends,i have been enjoying motherhood thoroughly,trisha is doing well.i just wanted to know how long do u feed ur baby?trisha wants feeds for 1 to 11/2 hrs and then she sleeps for 4-5 hrs without any fuss,is this the same with all babies?i just wanted to know that is she fed for a long time or has the weight of the baby got anythingto do with it?she was 7.64 pounds at the time of birth.pls let me know the feeding patterns of ur babies so that i can make some changes if needed.

guess i also fall into jenns category coz now abhi is going to be 1 month and feeds for only 15 mins at one breast only.he swallows a lot of air and i should say burping time is more than feeding time.
in the first 2 weeks he fed only for 5 mins and i was worried to hell for at the hosp they said they should feed for 15-20 min at each breast.however his weight gain is going great and that has put me to little peace.
so probably every baby feeds differently and we cannot compare the timings.nisha the best indicator is weight gain and if that is ok dont worry.dont try to reduce feed time if she is feeding coz she may be sucking slowly.that would be a big mistake.
