I had a quickie traditional baby shower yesterday. Mom got here. But she is leaving for Chicago today to be with my brother for a couple of weeks. Did'nt want to take any chances...so she said lets just get the formalities over with. So we had a small ceremony at home, just family. I was so touched...she had bought so many things for me! Unfortunately, I could'nt fit into some of the cute, trendy salwar kurtas she bought....will have to wait until after the baby. I wore a sari and I have a suspicious feeling that I resembled a giant football! Oh well! Got to eat some goodies from India too ( had to stay away from those sweets tho\";).
Just thought I'd share the moment with you all!

Hey Priya, glad to hear that your mom is here and that she got to throw you a nice and a cozy baby shower... it must have been fun...

I was always a rebel when it came to following traditions but the baby shower is one tradition I would surely go with if I had the chance...but being so far away from family wont allow me to do so..
I am sure you had a lot of fun and looked just gorgeous in the saree... and eating all those goodies from India..sounds yummy... :) you will get to eat em' sweet pretty soon.. so hang in there..
