i have just delivered a baby boy 20 days back and now breastfeeding him.i want to know when is right time to start top feed or top milk.


feeding is really tiring at times and as he grows will demand more.what should i do?should i start giving my milk in bottle or upper milk?please suggest. Mel replied. If you are looking for an easy way out, it' s much easier to feed your baby breastmilk. We had to combine BM and Top MIlk, and it was a bloody nightmare.... waking up every now and then, measuring scoops of powder in the middle of the night.... adding the right temperature water... all this while the baby is still crying.... then in the morning wash all the bottles, teats and rings, then sterilise and dry.... and the whole cycle just goes on and on. Trust me, it was so much easier when I was BF him. I could just turn him towards me without even getting out of bed and feed him... No waking up, no bottles, no cleaning, sterilising, nothing. Yes it is tiring but think how good it is for your baby in all respects. And of course you must have learnt about the benefits of breastfeeding for you as a mother too. Why do you need Top milk and what is Upper??? Your body will produce as much as is needed, and you do have to feed several times a day but this needs commitment. Its easy to give a bottle but baies are healthier with breastmilk and have fewer diseases when they grow up. I think you need to learn a lot about this and fast! All the best!
