Due Date Club July 2008:Hungry all the time !!!

Hi gals,

Just wanted to share a sudden change in me. I' m in my 9th week now and all of a sudden all my nausea and sickness have vanished. But now a new change I observe is that after every 2/3 hours I feel hungry.

Mornings are the most bad, and after my stomach full of lunch I feel like eating again after 3 hours. The hunger is so strong that it does not suffice if I eat only fruits or dryfruits or anything light. I need something heavy to again fill my stomach.

I' m wondering whether this is happening with u too. What do u guys eat in between? What kind of snack do u guys keep munching? My mom was telling me to make some ladoos with dryfruits so that it can be a healthy snack and also suffice my hunger.

Can u gals, please share some healthy in-between snacks I can keep munching all the time. Juice and fruits do not help.

Take care....

Hi

I am getting very hungry these days too. But it just struck me that I am not really taking it seriously. I just end up eating some fruit, biscuits or drinking a glass of milk. I should be stocking up more. Reema' s list was great. Reema, can u pass on some recipes for homemade dips? also Riya, ur idea of whole wheat sandwiches should do the trick for the evening hunger pangs... I am going to go shopping in the evening!

Hi gals,

Ur tips were really very thoughtful. A sandwich or some biscuits and even the dosa and idli idea is very handy. Something which will really fill you. Coz fruits and juices do not fill the stomach.

The other day I had my lunch at 1 in the afternoon and then again had a another lunch at 5 in the evening. During the evenings I think a heavy snack would suffice. I liked ur ideas and since we have a long christmas break here in the US now. I' m planning to make some ladoos, or dosa idli batter, or some homemade parathas which I can freeze and eat in middle.

Great tips gals.

Thanks a lot.

hi madhu

i am famished an hour or so after lunch.. snacking on dry & fresh fruits is great.. but they are not filling.. i' ve gone through the same dilemma.. i have recently started having whole wheat sandwiches.. with fresh sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and salt & pepper.. or with a cheese slice.. you could also have an egg sandwich if you don' t feel gassy and burpy with eggs..

try eating protein biscuits like Threptin.. it may take you a while to get used to the taste but it' s a good form of protein..

any more ideas anyone?
