I had embryo transfer on 21st May 07 with frozen embryo cycle. I got a positive bHCG on 4th June. Hoever the bHCG was low and did not double in 48 hrs. But after a week it was 1589- i.e. on 13 June. On 18 June I had spotting and went for emergency ultrasound which showed a fetal sac of only 4 wks but no embryo. After that I had lot of bleeding and miscarried. The next day I had u/s - no sac was there. My beta HCG levels had dropped to 1355. My doc told me to wait for a week and then get A repeat ultrasound and bHCG. I will be going on Monday- day after.

My question is - if I had miscarried, why is bHCG still positive i.e.>2 mine was 1355. I had 3 embryos put. Is it possible that I miscarried 1 and the other 2 might make it? Pl pray for me! virgov replied. hi all,

I m done my 1st IVF & got fail, now in nearfuture planning to go for 2nd try. please give me idea what is miscarriage all about is there is s chances of miscarrage afgter getting pregnent after IVF tratment. what are precaution i can take.

Our prayers are with you. Don' t be stressed out - It is easily said than done. Since you went through IVF, the residual hcg levels take a while to get back to normal. Hang in there and our prayers are with you on these difficult times.

I too miscarried last month, and my HCG levels were still raising, it was 33000 after my miscarraige.The doctor did an ultrasound to check if there is another embryo which survived.But no luck,there was no other embryo.The doctor said it takes time for the HCG levels to go down.I had to udergo D & C, after that also my HCG levels were 155., she said she will check after 10 days.Your body needs time to get back to normal.Thanks.
