I too like swimming. My hair is about 8 inches past my hips, so I think that qualifies it as long.

You're right, the rubber swim caps are difficult to get on...
so, this is what my Beautician told me to do...and, I do this.
Saturate hair in conditioner and plait hair in two plaits...(like a school girl) and let hair dry. You can leave it down or twist it up in a bun on either side of head.

After swimming, use a swimmer's shampoo...this can be found in the US at any drug or grocery store. It you don't have access to this, wash hair with a good herbal shampoo like Neem and then condition it and let stay on for 10 minutes and rinse.

That will help, but there is nothing as good as a rubber swim cap.

Take care
Nina

Hi, Aparna
I always french braid my hair before swimming. Yes, if the issue is chlorine, then yes either tap water or conditioner as barrier.

Hello everyone,
I have medium volume hair but my hair type is very thin and silky. Due to which my hair doesn't hold curls for long hours. I have heard that texturizing spray helps to solve the above problem. Could someone please suggest the good texturizing spray for thin hair?... - Amulya Peru [View Message]
