Hi Friends,

Today I had my doc appointment and found that I already gained 29 lbs. How about you all ? How much have you gained ? I think 29lbs is more for me, but doc said not chnage my diet and do some walking. Hope to go for regular walk after I finish my exam.

Thanks girls for quick reply.

Here is my diet information. I will be happy if this helps some one.

1. Drink one cup of whole milk with horlicks in the morning. Skim milk with horlicks doesn't taste good.
2. I take honey nut cheerios for my break fast with skim milk.
3. After and hour or two, eat 5 almonds and some fruit
4. For lunch, I eat rice with Vegetable curry and Dal. I eat ghee some times. Also try to eat curd rice.
5. After some time, will have some fruits again.
6. Evening I eat bread omlet or boiled corn or some fruits if I feel hungry. Not regular, I eat only when I feel hungry.
7. Drink freshly squeezed orange juice in the evening. Some times cucumber juice as it helps my swollen feet.
8. For Dinner, I eat roti with veg curry or rajma
9. Before sleeping, If I feel hungry I drink small cup of milk. This is very rare.

Friends, this is my diet. Not sure what caused my weight gain. Last month I was crazy about sweets, so had some nice sweets. Also had Pitza few times. May be these are the culprits. As all of you say, It is part of pregnancy and we should not worry as long as doc is ok with that. Hoping to go for a regular walk after my exam.

hi.. nice post.. thanks..

was just wondering if mother´ s horlicks would be more in tune with pregnancy than the normal horlicks.. i have heard it is specifically made for pregnancy and contains DHA and all that for the baby.. any experiences?

Hi Friends,
Well now since u have started the topic of weight gain so let me tell u that till now i have gained 35lbs ( am nbr 1 amongst u all) as i had written earlier also i dunno but somehow i gained 20lbs in one mnth(all thnx to the sweets we get in New Jersey) and was really worried but then after that my weight gain scale has gone slow(touchwood),so those of u who r concerned abut too much of weight gain pls don't worry as i know someone who gained 45lbs ( i still have time maybe i will break her record too hahahha),but now i have stopped worrying as its all a part of preg (no doubt i really have to struggle hard to come back to shape) and also those who r concerned abut less weight gain so u all also pls stop worrying as again one of my frnd gained only 10lbs and her baby was 8lbs when she delivered so as long as the DR says tht the baby is ok,u don't worry nd think urself lucky as u don't have to work hard after delivery shedding those extra lbs.
Remember be happy,no tensions and enjoy this beautiful moment tht has come to our life.

You may be one of those who gain wt early&slow down later mths.Well as long as u r able to freely move around&breathe with ease,relax.
Walk regularly to have an easy labor&most imp go by your dr she is seeing u thru' all this.
But do tell me your diet i can do with some wt!!Like Manisha i too am on the slow side gained only 11 total so far.I usually am not the wt putting on kind,so wasn't surprised.Also my mom told me she too never had gained loads but me&my sis's were born above av.&were healthy.So trying to console myself.How's the studying going?iam done with my exam finally but have lot of jobs coming up.So wil lbe busy next 2 mths.Do take care&keep posting!

I always thot i was on the higher side of gaining wt..gained 20 pounds till now..which was thinkng was too much...but not gained any past 2 weeks..the kept thinking why..thot would wait till the next checkup and see the scale there. till now not had complaints from the doc..so leaving it at that..manisha i can understand ur worry, i wasn't bothered till now..past week keep checking everyday..try to think maybe i am losing wt. and baby is gaining so remains the same..i have never been a skinny person..know i put on wt.fast too..don't know..maybe its natural.
for mothers reg .gaining wt..good for u..
its a worry if u put on too much and if u don't...been both sides..now just left it till the doctor says ok this is a prob..decided to be calm..
DOn't worry Anu /manisha...be happy and cheerful everyone is different, I am sure all the babies will be fine and healthy.

Hi Anu
I just feel happy for those who are gaining weight. I just wish i could also gain so easily. I am always worried that i'll give birth to a low-weight baby. Do you think I should start eating something specific? I am having a regular diet as earlier.
Have your appetite increased? Everytime i ask the size of the baby from doc, everytime she says its good, but i am worried. My total weight gain till now is close to 10 pounds. Everytime doc says its fine.. but i feel surprised how???

Hi Manisha and Anu
Manisha, Dont worry. My frend gained only 13 pounds and her baby was 6pounds. I drink whole milk and whole milk dahi and I also have ghee with food. Other than that I guess its normal diet only.
Anu, even my weight gain is on the higher side, gained around 33 so far. Bcos I'm having twins its fine I guess. But I know my frends gained upto 45 pounds in their preg, so dont worry.
I am 31 weeks tomorrow, jus few more weeks to go, we wont have time to think abt us and our wt gain after delivery.
