Hi ,

I am in the 14th week of my pregnancy and have been diagnosed with Thalassemia Minor...What to do :(

your blood will be monitored repeatedly to know you don't develop anemia and may be your will be put on more close suveillance of fetus to see if growth is on target.

This is not necessarily be a major problem. Do you know if your spouse is free from this condition? Have they ordered blood test for him as well.

Preeti,
as long as your spouse turns to be negative for the allele things will be fine with baby.
You may face more weakness from low HB and little improvement is expected from Iron supplement.
As long as you are monitored closely to find growth of baby you should be worry free.

Hi Archie,

My Hb level is 9.4 already.Yeah ,my husband is also going for the test next week.He is not in India with me ,rightnow.I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum in my first trimester.The doc has still not started any iron /multivitamin supplements. I feel very weak all the time.
