Due Date Club January 2006:Archie and other friends- diet after delivery ?

A very warm hello to Archie and all MOMS,

I have been a regular reader of this site and its always been of great help to me. Thanks to all of you ! And Archie...you are awesome- you rock!!!

I have a few questions to ask - hope you all would share your suggestions/experiences. I am pregnant with my first baby and doing fine. I want to know what should be the diet for a new mom....I mean what should we eat immediately after delivery and what should be avoided? I am planning to breastfeed my baby- what are the problems faced by a breasfeeding mom and what are the solutions to them?

My main reason for asking this question on IP is that I know this board is full of experienced moms and intelligent girls. Also, I lost my mother a few years back, so there is no elderly lady in my family who could advice me on this.

Archie, and other friends, I would greatly appreciate it if you girls respond to my query in detail. I will always be grateful to you.

God bless you all.

Dear Sonu,

I am very thankful to you that you responded to my message and gave me a few ideas. I honestly didn't know about potato and daal...i thought a new mom can have daal, since it is rich in protein. I knew about chole beacuse they are heavy and not so easy to digest.

I would really appreciate if you can share your mom's suggestions and tips. Infact I am looking for an experinced and elder person's views on this. If you want, you can write to me at mommy2006 at indiatimes dot com.

Thank u again sonu.
God bless you.

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.

Ear piercing
My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.
