hey,
i have just completed 6 weeks ... i have PCOSand was going to a specialist due to my problems ..so till now i have only been to her ..i have her visit again this friday to look for fetal heartbeat ..once everything is fine ..i will starting seeing the ob-gyn ....

so in anutshell, i have not had my first visit with my gynec yet ... but those tests which you said does sound like they do it in the first trimester ... from what i have read around :)

and abt mangoes ... even i asked my mom and she told me not necessary to completely avoid mangoes but minimize ..bcoz of my paranoia i am avoiding mangoes for now :) .. i am also not sure why they show that in movies ...!! maybe many have inclination to eat really sour stuff and that is why ... !!
I will ask my mom abt this ..!! :) :)

I read on interent that you can have mangoes but old ladies doed not advice, so its adviceable to not take mangoes
