Due Date Club November 2003:My U/S update

I had my U/S yesterday and I will be finishing 33 weeks tomorrow. The U/S went well. The good part is baby is in head down position. Just wanted to share with u all. By the way, I have yet to do a lot of shopping.
Hope everybody is doing good and taking rest.

Glad to know that ur u/s went well and that ur baby is head down. U must be relieved. I'll find out about mine today evening.

Regarding baby shopping, there still is sometime, till we can move around. So u can do it slowly and easily.

I am glad to hear that the baby is in the heads-down position. That must be a great relief.

Reagrding shopping, I am yet to buy the major stuff. Hope to complete it by mid-October.

I do feel the same. It's hard to believe that what I was thinking was the head is actually the bottoms. Hmm, they are that hard?

I'll know by next week how my girl is positioned.

Hey Suma, glad to hear that the baby is head down..and that you r doing well.. Not to long before the little one is out.. it sure is exciting.. :)

Jaya2, I had the same baby movements as you but what I thought was the head (the round bump on the right that keeps bopping up and down), according to the doc,was the baby's butt or knee and the kicks turned out to be hand movements.. :)
Your doc can feel your tummy and figure out the postion of the baby.. do bring it up with him/her at your next appointment.. and keep us updated..

That's so nice. Even my doctor told me that the baby is in head down position.But he didn't do the scan or U/S. He just told me from outside. I don't know how they can tell that.

Anyways happy to hear that. I have my appt this friday lets see what he has to say this time.

Thanks Suma for the info. So I guess I can relax for another 4-5 weeks before freaking out about the position of the baby.

Ruchika - Thanks, what u said is like a wake up call for me. I'm no medical professional, so i'd better not go around imagining the baby's body parts. Better get the doc to confirm it for me.

I think for the first timers, baby may come to head-down position anytime from 32 to 36 weeks(That's what I read in lot of books).

Hi Jaya2!

Actually I also used to feel the same way. That baby's head on the right side and legs at the opposite side.But after I visited my doctor in 32nd week he told me that's not head...that's the baby's bottoms or legs...I was surprised coz it used to be as hard as skull.
I think you will get clear idea once you meet your doctor.
Haven't done any shopping yet.

Baby is ready !!!

Suma, Ruchika & Simmi - Great to hear that your baby's head is down and ready to enter this world. I was just wondering if there is a specific time by which the baby should move head down?

I am in my 31st week and I can still feel the baby's head on the top right side of my tummy. Or at least it feels like the head because its round and keeps pressing outside. And also the legs kick on the opposite side of my tummy ie. lower left side. I have my doc's appt next week....maybe she will be able to tell me something.

Suma, I too haven't started any shopping. Am quite excited to shop, but wondering if I am too early. But will definitely get going in October.

Actually I had a terrible pain in my 32 week so the doc did the pelvic exam(which was awfully painful for me) I literally shouted. I don't know how I am going to handle it every week after 36th week. Anyways its just a matter of couple of more weeks.
You are in which week now ? Do you now boy/girl?

Hi!

Hi! Ruchika!
Good to hear that ur baby is also in head down position. My doctor did U/S to check the growth of the baby, weight etc; not for checking whether baby is in head down position or not. But when they did the U/S, with the other information about baby, they also told me about this head-down position. My doctor told me that they will check with hand @ 36 weeks or so regarding the position.
