Hi,today i had been to my gynec. She checked my cervix and its still closed. My due date is 22nd, this sunday.. she said will wait till then and has asked me to come on 25th for a regular checkup. She might decide after looking at me whether to do an elective induction.

I want to know... is elective induction bad if your cervix is still closed? Is there a chance it can be a long labor/c-section after getting induced?? Just worried after reading in some sites about its pros and cons. Thanks for the reply.

keep positive, things do change sometime in a day or two also. If you cross EDD better to induce as the prolonged stay in uterus could lead to increase size of baby and ultimately leans towards C-section. However to manage postdate pregnancy is choice between patient and Dr. I suggest to go for induction only because your Dr. may want to.
She/he will first help efface your cervix to improve chances of vaginal birth by induction. So don't worry, they will have to comply procedure and you will co-operate with positive attitude all will fall on right place.

How ru guys doing.MIne too the same situation.Iam also bit worried,i wanted to go to labor naturally.Lets hope for the best that labor pain should start soon.My due date is 21st if i done deliver by then by Doc told she will induce me on 25th. Jayashree replied. Rv,
Iam in the same situation.....my due date is the 23rd.....but iam still not dilated or effaced. So I have a doc's appointment on the 24th and she said she will most likely induce me on the 25th or at the most 27th even if the cervix still stays this way.....and yes, she did say that the possibility of a long labour and c-section is higher, but then, it depends on how your body reacts to the induction.
