Sleeping:Big BALD spot on her head

Mom's and Dad's...

I am noticing my little infant girl is losing her hair on the back of her head. She is 6 months old and has so much thick straight hair all over her head, all except a spot on the back of her head; it's almost completely smooth!

I suppose it could be from sleeping on her back or maybe not...I do not know.

I want to know if this is common or if this has happened with one of your children or something.

Thank you in advance,
Renuka

My daughter was born with lots of hair and they were very long. In our custom we are supposed to shave the hair after a month. That was when I saw that she had a moon like structure at the back of her hair. I was worried too, then I went an ayurvedic doctor. He too advised me that it is bcoz of the sleeping position of the baby. Though he prescribed an oil he said there is nothing to worry. Today she is 18 months old with good hair. After I think she became 4 months she started getting hair on the moon like structure bcoz that was the time when she used to sleep on either sides.
So, good luck and stop worrying
regards
wafia

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment to my question.

I feel so much more relieved to know I wasn't the only one and everything will be fine.

Thank you,

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
