Hi gals,

I had a question, I' m in my 9th week now. Since last couple of days I have been having backaches during the evenings. Is this normal? Does anyone of you experiencing the same? I have heard that since the baby weight is increasing and since the uterus is stretching, such minor backaches are normal.

Also, I wanted to ask whether using strong tub cleaners with bleach and strong smell to clean the bathing tubs, is it alright for pregnant women to use them for cleaning purposes? Or should I stay away from them the entire pregnancy? Also, is vacuuming allowed in the first trimester? Unless and until I' m not lifting anything heavy are all these activities safe during the pregnancy?

i do get backaches.. and it gets further aggravated when it' s cold.. it is a fact that backaches are common in pregnancy since the uterus is growing.. so nothing serious really.. just take care by not over-exerting your back..

try and avoid strong smelling cleaning liquids coz afterall, they are chemicals... they say inhaling smoke, chemicals, etc can affect the baby.. use antiseptic germicidals like dettol or something similar that may be available in the US or wherever you are living right now.. vacuuming is ok as long as you are not bending too much or carrying heavy objects during the vacuuming process.. try and stand as straight as possible while vacuuming..
