Due Date Club May 2008:Baby Pavan is here!!

Name: Shradha Baby Pavan was born on May 8th at 4:16PM PST. He is 7.07lb and 2 inches tall.
His birth story is as follows: My water broke around 2:15 AM on wednesday night. I called the hospital and they asked us to come over within the next 3 hrs. We reached the hospital at 4:30AM. After checking us in, I was put on pitocyn to get my contractions moving. The contraction pains were pretty severe. I tried to manage them without any medication till around 12:30PM. Boy!! hats off to all moms who have had a delivery without pain relief medication. At around that time the contractions were unbearable for me and I decided to take Epidural. I was still only 4CM dialated. After starting with epidural, I felt much better and got some energy back. The contractions were showing prety close on the monitor, but I was only 6CM dialated at 2:00PM. The doc informed us that we need to get baby out within 18 hours of water breaking. We decided to monitor contractions for another hour, at this point the contractions were getting even more closer. We were also monitoring baby' s heart beat which was going down with each contracion. The doctor at this point did another exam and indicated that the baby' s head was too big for it to pass through the birth canal and it had started to cone. The doc said it would be better to do a c-section at this point as baby was getting stressed. I was wheeled in to the operation theatre at 4:00PM and baby was delivered at 4:16PM. I was shifted back to my room around 5:5PM.
Baby and I are both doing good. The birth of my baby was diffenitely the most wonderful moment till date in my life. I look at him and I know its worth all the pains.
