Due Date Club November 2007:Breast pump

Name: Chitra Iyer

Hi everybody...I need an urgent answer from anybody who can help me. I am actually looking for breast pumps that are reasonably priced. Could anybody suggest a site and/or a brand name? What would u guys reccomend? Have you guys researched on breastfeeding. I work full time and I have asked my company if they would have any problem if I took a break to express milk and they don' t seem to have a problem. Since my date is nearing I am desperate to get some information fast. Breast pumps can be so expensive. I plan to post this question in every bulletin here so I can get as many answers as possible...

Hi Chitra,

I had used Medela Advanced dual sided electric pump during for my baby, I did not research much as most of my friends had suggested this one. I started working part time after my baby was 10weeks old and full time after my baby was 15 weeks. It was a very convinient alternative for me. I do belive it is expensive but well worth the investment. At my work we have rooms for nursing mothers, so it was a very calming environment and I was able to get done within 15 minutes

i have tried both kind of breast pump electic as well as manual and i was not comfortable with both, manuak breast pumps are very cheap ,but then still time consuming, however the otherone also din' t help me much, rather i suggest u to extend your leaves little more and once ur baby is 4 months plus then you can go back to home during lunch hours , so that will be more convenient and hygenic you can feed your child before you leave then in the mean time baby takes a little nap then take a bath u can reach back to him during lunch hours feed him make him sleep and then again leave for office after that once baby is awakened u can give him dal pani cerelac khichri apple mash type thing and by that time you will be back home.. so in a nutshell a child take 4 meals in a day time two can be your breast feed 2 can be other as i mentioned and u won' t be requiring to give him stored milk . rest is your wish though little tough and needs prpoer planning and tracking but it worked for me

Domperidone
There is a medicine for this condition. If your child is spitting up BF as well as lactogen, then Farex would not be the solution. There is a medicine which contains Domperidone made exclusively for babies which effectively treats this condition. Ask your doctor and then if he gives the go ahead, you can try this medicine. ... - Mel [View Message]
