My daughter is soon going to be 1 year but she still isn' t walking.

She sits well , can lift herself to sitting position when lying down, just started crawling but doesn' t like to walk.

She can stand supported for few minutes. How do i teach her/ encourage her to walk?

I am worried as she doen' t show any inclination to cruise or walk.

Please help.

The kids will start walking around the age of 1 year (for range check with the charts). The first sign is standing for a few seconds on their feet and then collapsing...make it fun and let them also enjoy this....make sure you play with them when they are attempting to stand.

After a little practice they sure are going to try for a few steps....help them by providing supportive hands...don' t worry about the rest...the children will get the point as they are more eager as well to start walking... Remember to always make a point to enjoy the process.

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
