not always!!

hi lazza,
when i tried it when i was pregnant, i did tell me the sex of my baby. i did this the day i took the pregnancy test and this got confirmed when i went to the doc's visit in the 5th mth , when they usually do the ultrasound.
i tried calculating this for a few of my friends, but it was not true for all. all i can say after trying for my mothers is that it is about 80% right but false for a few mothers.
if you are trying for a particular sex baby, i don't think its the right idea. b'coz i feel that all women at a particular age who conceive in that month can't have the same sex baby. what if the due date is same but the date of conception falls a date here or there in 2 months. you get what i'm saying...? say if a women is 28yrs old ,according to the chineses cal she is likely to get a male child if she conceives in the months july to oct. but what if the menstrual cycle is on the 15th of the month? she can conceive on the last day of juneor the first day of july, then what? girl or boy?
difficult,right?
just read the calender for fun, don't depend!!

you are right

hi friend,
i think you must use the ovulation cal for this purpose. as you said the 14th and 15 th is a better chance to conceive a boy. they say not to have frequent intercourse, (what i mean is unprotected). stick to the 14th and 15th day only for conceiving.
see friend, i'm not 100% sure about the above, but thats what i've heard. try your luck and all the best.

Hi,
I have started reading this site's message boards recently. This thread is particularly answering my unasked question.

I have a 2.4 yrs old girl baby. Now, me and my husband are thinking of having one more child and I would like to have a baby boy as it would be good to have a pair (1 girl and 1 boy). That's the reason I started reading this site a lot recently. As my husband wants the next baby in not more than 31/2 yrs gap, I should get pregnant in next 2-3 months. But when I was checking the chinese calendar it says that I should get pregnant only in November to get a baby boy. So, I was confusing myself whether to believe this or just don't believe this and think scientifically.

Now after reading your (Nicemom and lazza's messages) I feel confident that it's not 100% true.

All I can do is, follow the day count , I mean 14-15th day after the 1st day of last period to have a boy. Right?!

Friends, please give me few more words on this. Thanks again!.

Thank you nicemom for your comments - I like your scientific thinking. I also dont believe in it. But its good for fun.

My way of thinking is:Timing is everything. But nobody can determine the sex beforehand. But you can increase the probability.If you want a girl, sex before 4-5 days before ovulation may help. For boy, its during ovulation may be 14th,15th day - and every alternate days.

Its all chance - if X meeting X or Y meeting X.

I dont think the calendar can predict that - although in some cases its true. And believe me, some people followed the calendar and got their desired sex.I take it as a mere coincedence.
