hi abc, you are most welcome.

castor oil does not lighten the hair. not at all. it is one of the best oils for hair.

as you say a mild shampoo is what the hair needs and most indian shampoos are very harsh on the hair. no matter what never go for a shampoo with menthol.

Revlon flex shampoo and conditioner are very good. thats a very mild shampoo and the conditioner is just awesome. but you have to be really very careful when buying it. its important WHERE you buy it. buy in health and glow or any big super market. its not that revlon flex is not available anywhere. on the contrary it is available almost everywhere. but the fact is, you can be duped with a duplicate one if you buy in small shops. then check for the expiry date ALWAYS. because not all know about this shampoo, they dont tend to buy, because it is not advertised on the indian televisions. you can also use Halo. halo has been in the market for ages. but with the new brands with great celebrities in great ads, has killed halo's market but not the product. since it has egg in it, it keeps the hair healthy and shiny black.

dont go for a shampoo that says that has conditioner in it as well. they dont work. in fact, revlon also has one of that sort. dont go for that. depending on your hair type- oily, normal/regular, damaged, etc, go for the appropriate shampoo and appropriate conditioner.

whenever you choose a shampoo, choose one where the brand manufactures a conditioner too. using a shampoo of one company and a conditioner of anither company wont work out. its not that one should not, its just best that one sticks on to the same brand. dont change your brands often. once if you think it suits your hair, stick to it. for example, if you choose revlon if you have regular hair, if by some reason your hair is damaged and you want to choose a shampoo thats for damaged hair. then revlon has it. so you can choose it without any problem, because the compound wont differ unlike changing to a completely different brand. so the the manufacturer must manufacture shampoo and conditioner for all skin types and not just for one. do you understand what im trying to say. if at all a conditioner is not available with a particular shampoo manufacturer, instead of going for one of another brand, manufacture your own conditioner for yourself. simple.

all the very best.

all my love,
priya.

Hello everyone,
I have medium volume hair but my hair type is very thin and silky. Due to which my hair doesn't hold curls for long hours. I have heard that texturizing spray helps to solve the above problem. Could someone please suggest the good texturizing spray for thin hair?... - Amulya Peru [View Message]
