I am a working woman and am planning to go in for an IVF treatment. I would like to know if there have been any others who have carried out IVF treatment while still at work. Is the procedure one which requires full time off work?

Dear vg,
My wife is undergoing ICSI procedure now. Being a working woman, it was difficult for her to initially go for frequent scans. Now she has changed her work timings so that she has more time in the mornings. Yes, you have to go for frequent scans. And if your doctor is a busy doctor with more patients, the waiting time is also more. So, you may have to keep aside atleast half a day for these procedures

Dear vg,
I think it is better to take off from work for 2 weeks after embroyo replacement. It is also advisable to take bed rest for 3 days (except bath and toilet). You can ask your doctor to give medical leave cert to your employer.I was also working when i did ivf and took time off from work for 2 weeks.I was lucky that the ivf was successful through god' s grace. All the best.

Suman. thank you for your suggestion. Did you have to take too much time off for all the scans and tests prior to embryo placement. I know I should be asking all this to my doc, but just wanted to get a feel of things before I approach a doc.
