Dear Ash,
Sorry to note your troubles and mishap with first baby.
Even after full term birth of healthy child it happens sometime that they die without a reason, which is called \";Sudden Infant Death Syndrome\";. This can happen anywhere between birth to 4 months and SIDS chances subside from 4 months. One has to keep an eye on baby breathing pattern, try to make him sleep in not so soft but not hard bed while in crib. Not to keep any toys or pacifiers in his/her crib as they are likely to affect baby in some way if they happen to be around or in their way while sleeping.

If your pregnancy was taken care well then sure you knew that you have had no infection (urinary) while delivering baby, which it could contract and eventually grow and lead to mishap what you faced.

Now that you are pregnant and come with fungal infections, in my opinion you must get that treated. Yes Fungal infections can be treated while pregnant. If that's outside vaginal area then you could apply some external ointment and get it done. If it's in vaginal area then you must clean this at least 6-7 weeks before your deliver and make sure your vaginal path is absolutely free from any bacteria, take a swab test about 6 weeks before expected due date and see if there are any bacteria/fungi. If there is something and you are not sure it would have disappeared completely then think of C-section. If you are sure you are free from them then go for vaginal birth trial.

I think sugar levels are little towards high side so you need to understand and cut down carbohydrate to keep baby weight in limits.

I understand you concern of weight gain but you will see that weight gain will start onward 6 months. Lets see what happens otherwise you will have to see a diatician to improve your weight.

Tell me have you done an ultrasound around week 20 and if yes then what was the weight of foetus?

if you have not done ultrasound then why not to get it done I imagine you are already completed 20 weeks.

Keep updated so that your case can be understood in better way.

About family stuff, do not get too much into domestic aspect, concentrate on your baby and your own health that's most important.

yes, if you have vaginal infection then try not to wear polyester or synthetic undergarments, wear completely cotton textured and loose undergarments, keep area aerated. Blot after urination so to make sure it's dry, do not wipe it hard.

Dear Ash,
The death of your first boy is something you don't want to remember again but I think I want to shed some light on after reading your message.

Medical condition "septicemia" means presence and multiplication of bacteria (germs) in the blood and the patient having condition is referred to as Septicemic patient. Your baby was having this condition and at that age it's very difficult to treat with antibiotics, unless you were in India. Unfortunately in USA or western countries they do not offer antibiotics to new borns. However knowing that baby was septicemic means it was mandatory to use antibiotics.

How did it become septicemic is most important as you are pregnant again. Either you were not tested for vaginal bacteria before delivery or if you were then you got some bacteria in vagina after taking test and they were there when your baby was born, baby got some from there. But this is less likely as your baby died in 15 days following the birth. If this was the case then in a day or two after birth your baby will develope fever and die in less than a week from birth.
To me seems that your baby got infection after birht. It may have been from contaminated clothings, or you may have been suffering from some mild infection that did not bother you but baby got it from milk (remember to keep healthy after delivery). It is also possible that baby could get some air infection and if you offered some water or make formula in water then boil water for about 15-20 minutes before using. Let the boiled water become cool on it's own and cover it always and never use it more than 48 hours. These are some tips to keep baby healthy. Also remember to change his cloths and blankets everyday and clean them, everyday let baby sleep in freshly washed and dried cloth. If you use cloth diapers then make sure they are very well washed. use some wipe cloths those are only once used and washed before resue. Always keep baby mouth clean and dry as they can get bacteria and transfer easily from mouth.

Good luck for this baby and stay healthy.
Archie

hi archie
whosoever u are...god bless u for all the advice rendered....at least somebody cares and thinks...tx..a lot..i have been asked by my dr to insert Candid V6 tablets for the next 15 days.
I am into my 18th week now and have to go for level III ultrasound on 6th May.
last time when i was pregnant my baby was bouncing and kicking from 4th month onwards..so much so that even onlookers used to comment that i am carrying a naughty child as it was visible to people outside too...however, this time my baby is very silent...she doesnt move around much (i m hoping its a girl!)...is it normal?
as far as my first baby was concerned, according to doctors he had developed Scepticimia...but nobody was able to tell us how he got it...and the biggest agony was that he was hospitalised for over a week for high fever before his death, but no tests were conducted on him to ascertain what the problem was...it was only when he started having convulsions that the dr thought of going in for some blood tests!
i will keep u updated on my progress. also my husband has Diabetes...will this effect baby and me?
