How are you doing? Hope all are enjoying their second trimester.
For the past 10 days I have been having some problem with my wrist. First my lefthand wrist was paining & slowly was swollen. The pain was quite unbearable. I thought I have slept in a wrong position or has put more weight, so it got swollen. After abt 4 days the pain subsided.
Now I have the same pain(not much swelling though) in my righthand wrist. Its difficult to even have food with right hand.Its slowly subsiding. I will be meeting my doctor on Friday/ Monday.
In the meantime I searched in the net & this kind of problem is call Carpel Tunnel syndrome, observed in 20 pregnant women. Has anyone faced this kind of pain??? Pls do suggest any remedies/ solutions available.

Hope you are all doing fine. As on my update, by the time I visited my doctor, my wrist pain was almost gone. I am not sure if my doc realised the severity ,but asked me not to overdo anything. making Chapati is getting back the pain....so as of now I hv stopped making chapatis at home(which is a pain as well for me !!!)If the pain comes back I may be advised to take some medication.

I am just hoping & praying, all goes well from now on.

Perky ck replied. I had this pain in my first pregnancy only in left hand. There was no swelling but used to pain a lot. I started wearing watch(watch band used to increase the pain) on my right hand for this reason.

Working on computer may cause this for some women itseems. My doc suggested to wear the wrist support band available in pharmacy for keeping a good wrist posture(which I never did since it was not very bad). Check if your keyboard/mouse is ergo adjusted. Don' t type too much at one time, take it slow and change your hand position often between typing. Hope this helps. I' m eager to hear what your doc said. Good Luck. Dreamymommy replied. Hi Perky....I haven' t experienced this pain during this pregnancy but a few months ago I did have severe sharp pain and numbness in my left hand which I too thought was carpal tunnel syndrome but it turned out to be something called an ulnar nerve entrapment. It went away with some basic exercises in six weeks. I am glad you are already seeing your doctor this Friday. Guess in this case he shall know best.
