Is mangoes okay to eat after 15th week? I love mangoes and didn' t eat it until now(since it is too much heat). I know papaya is never to be touched in pregnancy(I don' t like papaya). I don' t hear such stuff in US though...

Hi,

You can eat mangoes from the 4 th month but in moderation.Soak the mango in drinking water for 4-5 hrs and then eat it so that the heat comes out.
Also have other cooling things like cucumber and buttermilk or coconut water if u r eating mangoes, but go easy.
Take care n Good luck!!

Hi ck...Thanks for your thoughts on the crib issue...Even I find myself more convinced of the crib and rest I guess I do have to wait for the baby to come out and then follow my instincts...
From what I have heard its best to stay away from Papayas(and even Pineapples) for the first three months and have mangoes in moderation but since you are well past the first trimester you are in the safe zone. Personally I too stayed away from the 2 P' s but did enjoy a mango or two during the first trimester and touchwood all is well so far but like I said you aresafe in the 15th week so you can give in to those cravings without any fear.

Take care and all the best

Hi CK,

I am from jan board. Regarding mangoes you can eat it any time though I have heard that it should not be eaten in the first three months, but from the day one I have eaten loads of mangoes & nothing happened to me or my baby. So now anyways the crucial time (for which people say NO to mangoes) for you is over, you can very well eat it. But don' t overeat in a day. I think one would be sufficient.
Take Care,
SV
