Hi All....
Am new to this community..
Now my baby is 7 months old.. Since birth she has the habit not to sleep early at night..
She goes to bed at midnight 2/2.30 then gets up at morning 11.30. I tried not to allow her to sleep during the day so that she will sleep at nt..but all in vain.
How can I habituate her to sleep early at nt?

my son is 6mnths even a cpl of mnths back he used to sleep at 1 or 2...as a result we were also awake ... but we could really change is habit in a weeks time or so ... and now he sleeps off by 9 or 930am...
as ruma said finish off dinner by 8 or 9 ..and see u dont include stuff which might cause gas..
arrange a bed tim routine make her wear a night suits an hr before she sleeps ... and try to tierd off by playing some robust game ...but in the bedroom or where she sleeps...put in a dim light
all in the family must contributr ... put off tv radio etc after 8pm... still we dont watch tv after 9pm...
last but nt the least it needs immense patience ... dont get bogged dwn ... u may have to b wth her so u too finish off early dinner.. she will wake up ...cry ... fuss..but b firm and never ever get angry and no bribing...
it will take some time but will wrk

1. give her a warm towel bath just bfore dinner (around 6.30 to 7pm) after the stroll / some playing in the evening ..then massage with bedtime johnsons lotion. then make sure all solid dinner is done bfore 8-8.30 ....late food can sometimes cause stomach churns in the night keeping her awake?
2. in the mornings do some mild stuff to get her out of bed before 11am ...like pull off curtains, speak in slow voices etc nothing alarming but something to show activity so that she is encouraged to wakeup early which will allow her to sleep earlier also eventually. dont let her sleep on till 11am.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
