Health Concerns:Diabetes/Heartbeat

Hi

My wife is in 6th month of preg. She had a miscarriage and D&C was not done properly. She bled for nearly 12 days more and again D&C was done. Later, she developed some infection and on blood test we found she has diabetes.

Again when she became preg. in Jan, 04 our physician told to put her on human insuline 30/70. Its dose started from 5 in morning and 2 at night, and now it has reached 16 in morn and 10 in night.

What r the hazards of her having diabetes?

Further, when i try to hear or feel her abdomen, i hear a bubbling sound and find the baby kicking. But the voice cannot be heard always nor we can find him kicking all the time. Does he go for sleep inside? Do we be able to hear his heartbeat?

She sometimes complains stiffness in abdomen. Also her baby is at lower position in abdomen. How can it be brought up and how can stiffness be stopped? Or is the stiffness normal as she is gaining width?

Dear Jayant,
Sorry to note your earlier loss and painful D&C process on your wife.

Her pregnancy looks going good.
It's OK to feel baby movement occasionally. Your baby will more more in seventh month and you can feel movement each 2 hours. From 8th month baby will have limited space in uterus and won't move much although he/she is awake. Babies do sleep. If you don't feel movements for 6 hours or so call your Dr. that's time to worry otherwise all is fine. Sometime if she feels no movement for 6 hours try to give her some cold fruit juice and some sweet, your baby will get hiccups in about 10 mintues and you can feel movements.

Abdominal tightness if normal. She does not have to bring her baby high position, she is likely facing Braxton Hicks and that's very normal.

Good luck
Archie
