my domineering old mil who is 60 + is always domineering
now just bcoz i had tiff with her she has gone to a diff flat in the same apt
her only son visits her there morn and night to ensure her safety
she wants my son and hubby but not me
she was not talking for 2 monts
now just to the minimum
she doesnt like the way i do things

Tony S replied. Dear Poornima, stop thinking about your MIL. Plan a nice trip for your weekends when u can spend a great time with your hubby and son - either a picnic or simply window shopping in a new mall or something. U can even ask your friends to join who have sons of your age so it can be a great family date. If your hubby mentions taking his mother along, with a smile tell him, why not she can come too. Buit keep your interaction with her to the minimum. This way she will also receive cold waves from u and introspect on her own behaviour. But for more suggestions u need to write in detail. All MILs are dominating. The other word for MIL is dominating ! So dear dont worry , it affect your health. Dont think about her, during weekdays, read a book, go to the gym, make friends and share good ideas. Remove her out of your foremind. She will be there in the background anyway. All the best
