even my seven month old son behaves like this sometimes. It could be possible that he is not properly fed. The other reason could be that he is tired sleeping in one position. Try to change his position. I tried this and it helped me.

once he takes to the fluid supplements i suggested in my prev response, try those for around a week & if he is ok you can go on to
1. crush banana, mix it with 3-4 teaspoons of water and a pinch of sugar and feed him that. you can alternatively add this to nestum after trying out both individually to check if he takes to it.
2. boil & mash apples after peeling them, take away the seeds, cut into small pieces, and give half an apple with nestum, after putting it in the mixer to make sure there are no lumps
3. boil half a carrot, mash in a mixer and feed a few teaspoons.
4. take some daal water (toor daal), mix it with some rice nestum cereal or with the mashed carrot and feed this
5. ragi porridge ...sprout ragi and make porridge at home (you will find the recipe everywhere on the net if you search for ragi porridge or nachni) & give it with formula
these are some foods that most of the 6 months kids take to ..95% of them will be fine with these ..fruits, veggies, nestum etc are time tested so you can be devoid of worries.
Initially give them individually (meaning dont mix 2 fruits together or rice and daal etc just one by itself), and see how he does ...initial feeds will be small since he will be fussy ..when he starts to object, stop the feed and feed him the same thing 1 hr later (unlike feeds these can be kept for an hr or even more) ...try & try for 10 days to 2 weeks and it will work like a charm ...6 month kids want these for their development and he is signalling you his requirements by tossing at nites, so take the hint :-) ..his stool color might change in which case tell the doc in his next visit or you can collect the sample in a diaper and get it tested in a lab near u ...show the results to the doc ...my kid started on supplements during her 5th month since she had the same issue ..initially stool colors were a worry but doc said its expected, ofcourse always better to consult.

vishi, here is my suggestion ..
you have not specified where you live ...if you are in india then i' d say since he is on formula, he could be started on supplements ...first set of supplements should be very light on the stomach, maybe nestum stage 1 ..since he is on formula, you can mix nestum cereal as recommended with the formula and feed him during nights ...then in your bottle warmer pls keep some hotwater and the formula ready to be mixed when he starts to toss ...the minute he starts feed this to him in a bottle and he should be fast asleep as soon as the warm fluid fills his system, never fully take him on ur shoulders or console him since its habit forming and kids take to it and expect to be consoled to sleep from then on ....never mind elders in the family suggesting it, if he is in a crib / has his own place of sleep, keep him right there, make some soothing noise and immediately feed a little bit of formula to begin with & then increase feed ...also starting light supplements is the biggest relief since formula will digest soon and make his stomach empty at nites making him cry !!! ...suggested supplements are
1. ragi porridge (some kids initially constipate but take to it well in around 2 weeks)
2. nestum stage 1
3. fruit juices strained well to remove any seeds or anything that is not smooth
hope u find relief in these

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
