thanks a lot for ur warm welcome.iam in california. i determined to chose an american doc.the doc i have chose doesnt accept patients before 10th week.anyway i insisted in taking a n eearlier appointment. when i went there she didnt even check my weight. i got my first prenatal appointment on 23rd. does anybody know how shd i go prepared? do u think i shd change the doc? i dont have any morning sickness. till now i dont have any conformation of my pregnancy other than the home test.iam confused. help me sharmila replied. I suggest you change your doc. My ectopic surgery in Jan was a miracle because I was already 10 weeks and it was detected late only because the doc asked me to see her after I completed 2 mths of pregnancy. If it was even a day later I would have suffered internal bleeding. What surprised the doc was that I never had even the slightest pain till it was detected in the U/S. My home test was positive and so I was just waiting to completed 2 mths.
I would advice anybody to see your doc as early as you miss your period and suspect a pregnancy.

i feel its better to change the doc because its better to see the doc as soon as u feel ur pregnant. you can go to your primary doc office and confirm pregnancy.

I am from NJ. Mine is a group. From what I learned from calling the gyn's here and talking to my primary doc the gyn's usually see u in the starting of your 6th week. If your doc doesnt do that I will suggest you to make an appointment with another gyn. Its better to see 1 or 2 gyn's before deciding on the the person u want.

Have u started taking prenatal tabs? To confirm my pregnancy before my gyn's appointment what I did was to have a pregnancy check up at my primary physicians office. This will give you a little more peace of mind till u wait to see your gyn.
